Planned Parenthood’s Annual Report

Planned Parenthood recently published its annual report for FY 2011-12, disclosing that it had performed 333,964 abortions and provided 1,425,746 “emergency contraception kits” (Planned Parenthood’s definition of “emergency contraception” encompasses administration of Levonorgestrel or Ulipristal acetate pills or a ParaGard UID).

The Life Issues Institute compared this report to previous annual reports and put together the following numbers (Note: We have corrected the title of column 2 to reflect Planned Parenthood’s broader definition of “emergency contraception”).   In sum, instances of abortion procedures continue to rise, while emergency contraception use hovers just below 1.5 million.  Adoption referrals, which are also reported, remains low by comparison:
